Why choose free range eggs ?

Free range eggs are a great source of protein. These eggs have the freedom to roam outdoors, rather than being cooped up in cages. Along with living conditions, the free range designation demonstrates a level of care and quality for chicken-raising that promises a better product. They also have a better taste and higher nutritional value, because they’ve had more access to food, air, sunlight and exercise. They are also usually supplemented with grains to help them lay eggs in a shorter period of time. Free-range eggs tend to be larger in volume, and with added vitamins, antioxidants and omega 3s from their diet.

These eggs are the healthiest way to eat eggs. Free range hens produce healthier eggs than caged egg production systems. In general, free range vs caged chicks do not exhibit as many of the health problems associated with conventional breeds. The increased amount of vitamin D and other nutrients found in free range eggs has been linked to a lower incidence of some diseases. Research also indicates that caged hens produce eggs that carry higher levels of omega 3’s, antioxidants and more beta carotene than cage raised eggs.
